Okay, today I was coming back from class and I happened upon some of my friends playing Uncharted 1. As they were playing, I did a small quirp on how Nathan Drake is a badass (I said that he was Nathan Drake in one of those tones that mentions badassery), and then I admitted that I've never seen a PlayStation 3 in action until I came to college (they have PS3s in all the dorm lounges). The reason: the PS3, even with the price reduction, is too expensive to get right away with a game or two for it (I know PlayStation 1 games work on the PS3, but I don't have a lot of PS1 games... or at the very least good PS1 games).
Then I was asked how I knew about that stuff and I was told that I couldn't say anything about the game unless I played it. Now I get that there are some people who find Nathan Drake an unlikeable character, but you don't tell someone that they can't basically know about something before actually trying it out (like me and the PS3). I never played The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, but I admit that it looks very fun. I never played Final Fantasy VII, but I acknowledge the fact that a lot of people find it to be the best Final Fantasy game (and that Cloud looks like a badass with his huge sword that defies the laws of physics). And shockingly, despite having a PlayStation 2, I never played either of the God of War games, but I do admit Kratos is a god-killing, woman-fucking, awesome-weapon-wielding badass.
And honestly, how many people have said something like Plan 9 from Outer Space is the worst movie ever made without having seen it? I personally think that Monster a Go Go is far worse, and Quarantine comes in second to that, with the "Movie" Movies coming in for a tie for third.
I get that he could have been meaning something else. I left before I could ask him what he meant, but that honestly pissed me off today.
